幻想的な（幽玄な，と表現した方がいいかもしれません）「風の盆」の祭りは，毎年９月１日~３日の３日間，富山県八尾市（越中八尾）で催されます（前夜祭は，その前の２週間。なお，写真は全て前夜祭のものです。本祭は混雑し過ぎ＆平休日無関係に催されるので・・）。
「風の盆」は，300年以上伝承されているそうですが，近年は，テレビ番組や小説の舞台になったとかで，小さな山あいの町に観光客が大挙して押し寄せるようになってしまいました。
この祭りは元々，台風をなだめ，米の収穫の豊穣を祈ることから来ているそうです。
夜になると，八尾の小さな町の小路が紙蝋燭の灯りでほのかにつつまれ，その中を，胡弓や三味線で奏でられる哀愁あふれる調べに合わせて，若い男性・女性が藁の傘をかぶり踊りながらゆっくり進んでいきます。
もっと観光客が減ると良いのですが・・・（かくいう私もその一人ですが・・・）。

Kaze no Bon  is a Japanese melancholic festival ,held every year from September 1 to 3 in Yatsuo, Toyama, Japan.
Kaze-no-Bon literally translates to “Bon Dance of the Wind.”
This festival, having a history of about 300 years, is recently becoming a popular tourist attraction to the otherwise sparsely populated mountain area.
The original festival was held in order to appease typhoons and allow for a bountiful harvest of rice.
At night. The streets are decorated with paper lanterns, and long rows of young men and women, their faces covered by low-brimmed straw hats, dance simultaneously to rather melancholic music,played on the Kokyu and the Shamisen (Japanese traditional stringed instrument).
