醤油醸造で栄えた町，引田 / Hiketa,the center of the industry of soy sauce

Hiketa-Town ( Higashi-Kagawa City, Kagawa-Prefecture) was a port town to wait for a favourable wind on the Harima Sea.
From ancient times, Hiketa-Town is also famous as a place for producing soy sauce.
At present, maze of alleyways and many historical houses still remain.

香川県東かがわ市引田町は，播磨湾に面する港町で，平安時代より半島（城山）によって風が遮られる天然の良港「風待ちの港」として開かれ，さらに，古くから醤油醸造の街として栄えました。
江戸時代から明治時代にかけての入り組んだ路地や古建築が多く現存して、近代以前の漁師町の風情をとどめています。
