活気あふれるホーチミン，メコンデルタ / Ho Chi Minh, Mekong Delta ; liveliness and energy

2006年1月時点の，ホーチミン市，および，メコンデルタ地方の風景です。
ホーチミンは，以前はサイゴンと命名されていましたが（現在も，「サイゴン」という呼称はよく使われているようです），ベトナムで最大の都市です（首都はハノイ）。
元々サイゴンは，フランス領コーチシナの首都が置かれておりました。
現在も，ホーチミン中心街には，街路樹の街並みや，歴史的なフレンチコロニアル様式のホテルや建物群が多く残っております（ドンコイ通りなど）。
ホーチミン市も，南部メコンデルタ地帯も，活気と活力に溢れていました。

Ho Chi Minh City , formerly named Saigon , is the largest city in Vietnam.
Under the name Saigon, it was the capital of the French colony of Cochin-china.
Today, the city’s core is still adorned with wide elegant boulevards and historic French colonial buildings.
Ho Chi Minh City, and the Mekong Delta city are  lively and active places.
